Russia and English Speaking Сountries.

Употребление определённого артикля с географическими названиями.

 

( План-конспект урока.)

Цель: Развитие языковой компетенции учащихся.

Задачи:

Образовательный аспект: Формирование коммуникативных умений учащихся на основе лингвострановедческих знаний. Развитие навыков устной речи и умения воспринимать на слух.

Воспитательный аспект: Формирование уважительного отношения к иной культуре и чувства гордости за свою страну.

Развивающий аспект: Развитие познавательных способностей.

Оборудование: Карты России и Великобритании, компьютер, доска, карточки с заданиями, презентации, подготовленные учащимися.

Ход урока:

I.                   Организационный момент.

(Приветствие, сообщение темы и плана работы на уроке).

Good morning, my dear friends! ----

I am very glad to see you again! ----

How are you? ----

Please, take your seats and get ready to start our lesson.

The theme of the lesson is Russia and English Speaking Countries.

We shall have a talk about some of the most important countries in the world,

their geography, state emblems and flags. You will answer questions, share

your ideas about Russia, Great Britain, America.

Now it's time to practice your pronunciation. You can see two columns of words

at  the blackboard.

     III.     Warming up.      

      T:  We have much spoken about traveling. Why do people travel?

  (to meet people , to visit new places, to make friends, to know customs and   traditions, to learn language, to see interesting places, to know more about countries)

    T: I believe everybody would like to make a trip to another country. But before do it you must know your own country.

    1. Listen to the text:       ( презентация )     

       The official name of the country is the Russian Federation. It is the largest country in the world. It occupies the Eurasian continent. The total area of the country is 17 million sq. km. It boarders on China, Mongolia,  Korea, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Azerbaijan in the south,  Norway, Finland, the Baltic States, Belarussia and Ukraine in the west and the USA by the sea.

       Russia is washed by the Arctic Ocean, the Pacific Ocean, the Baltic Sea, the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea.

      The Russian Federation is made up of 21 republics, 6 territories (krai), 49 provinces (region, oblast’), 10 autonomous areas (okrug) and 1 autonomous region.

       The capital of the country is Moscow.

       The flag of the Russian federation is called the imperial flag because earlier our country was an empire with a monarch. It consists of three equal stripes of white, blue, red. The colours of the flag symbolize: white – frankness and generosity; blue – honesty and wisdom; red – courage and love. The flag was officially adopted by the Russian president and the Russian parliament on 21 August 1991.

        The Russian National Emblem is the golden double-headed eagle with a horseman (St. George) on a shield on the eagle’s breast with a red background. The state emblem, the oldest one, appeared in Russia in 1480.

 

2. Answer the questions:

   -  When was the flag adopted?

 

 T: Thank you. Now it's time to rest. Read and guess the riddle, please:

 T: All right. Now give some new facts about Russia, using a map and a list of words.

VI.             Презентация  проектов по теме «Англоязычные страны».

         T:  Now you have a chance to present your projects. You may use a computer, a map, some pictures or drawings to illustrate your topics.

VII.          Обучение грамматике. ( Употребление определенного артикля с географическими названиями)

      T: It's time to practice  grammar. Remember, when the definite article THE is used with geographical names.

        (учащиеся дают устные ответы, затем получают карточки с заданиями.)

                    

 

Use the article « the» where it needs

    

      Alaska is a cold land of tall mountains and friendly people. Its territory is about 1530 thousand square kilometers. Its sea borders are ….Arctic Ocean in ….North and ….Pacific Ocean in the South. …Alaska has a land border with …Canada.

     On the 30th of March 1867 …United States bought … Alaska from …Russia, and it became the49th state (…biggest state of the USA) .The capital of …Alaska is … Juneau.

    Alaska is often called by its nickname-The Last Frontier –because of its great distance from the other states. It is also called …the Land of Midnight Sun because in summer …Sun does not disappear from the sky and is seen even at …midnight. A lot of tourists come to …Alaska from all over the world to see mountains, clean rivers and beautiful parks.
